                                          “Barbu”

Bred by Mary Lou Tingley and owned by Judy Odom (Woodbine) of Texas, Barbu was born in 1975. His sire was
Ch Sultan d’Esprit and his dam was Ch Usheba des Bergers. Barbu was a handsome, powerful black male who carred
a tawny gene. He sired three litters from three different bitches but one litter in particular really produced notable
offspring, long famous for their many accomplishments.

In 1980 he was bred to Mira Natasha Chien de Sel, a bitch bred by Sue Erickson of Minnesota and owned by K.
Kyd. Mira was an Ch Stonehill’s I’m Henry daughter. That branch petered out 2 generations later.

In 1982 he was bred to Fran Taylor’s big winning bitch, Ch Phydeaux Polly Poulet, a Hall of Famer herself. This
produced Fran’s remarkable T litter which included Chs C’est Bonheur Tel Qu’un Tresor, Tomorrow, TinTin and Wood-
bine Tinsel HT.

Tresor and TinTin weren’t bred but TinTin had a very successful show career, handled by Brian Meyer, now an
AKC judge. That leaves, Tinsel...this is where we could say...and the rest is history! Tinsel leaves an incredible footprint
on the breed that continues in to today’s latest puppies. She was actually Judy Odom’s stud fee puppy but she moved
to Cleveland to live out her life and show career at Deja Vu. Tinsel had three litters. The first was with the Keiters’ Ch
Take Stock in JB producing 6 champions, many of whom were bred: Chances R, Celebration, Celtic Pride, Cheap Thrills,
Cry Havoc and Cryn Out Loud. Celtic Pride Larry) went to Marsha Clamp (Snoaire) and his offspring run through the
kennels of Glendrover, Best Betes, Chelford (via Bigtree), Eastbay, Cherrywood, VertMont, Sagi, L’Ourse and back to
Deja Vu.

Tinsel’s second litter in 1988 with Deja Vu California Cooler produced five champions: Days of Wine & Roses
(Mon Jovis), Deck the Halls, Diva, Double or Nothing and Doubting Thomas. Again most were bred. Rosie is well known
and can still be seen today in the Dennis the Menace movie. She was bred four times producing F, G and H litters at
Mon Jovis. Diva was bred to Peter. Doubting Thomas sired a G litter, most well known was Grand Jury (Miejo) a win-
ning special shown by Art Tingley. Miejo sired three litters, one for Deja Vu, one at Phydeaux and the last at Sentinelle
in western Canada. One of those pups was Sentinelle Deja Vu Nth Degree. Double or Nothing sired three litters, one
for Aigner Briards.

Tinsel’s last litter was in 1990 with Mielleur Raffoler Ours (Clancy) bred by Diane Royce in WI. From this litter
came Chs Four Leaf Clover, Fractured Fairytales (Snoaire), and La Fete de Mielleux. Fete was bred to Sarek whelping Ch
C’est Bonheur Mielleux J’ai Dit and Ch Classique Just Rewards Mielleux (Kathy Lanam-Classique). Fractured Fairytales
(Frisco) was bred to Dansr Mielleux Diplomat and had one litter which included Chs Snoaire’s I Be Bad and I’m Gonna
Get You.
